Ensur is looking for a Senior Operational Risk Consultant to join our team and help shape the future of risk strategy in Belgium’s leading insurance companies. In this role, You will lead Operational and IT Risk management projects by designing frameworks, driving change initiatives, optimizing resources, and providing strategic leadership to embed best practices across the organization.

As a Senior Operational Risk Consultant you will:

• Advise insurance clients on operational risk frameworks and methodologies, governance, and controls (Solvency II, COSO, ISO 31000, etc.)
• Lead and deliver risk assessments, RCSAs, scenario analyses, and control design
• Support clients in managing third-party risk, outsourcing risk, business continuity, and operational resilience
• Translate regulatory expectations into pragmatic, business-ready solutions
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders (Risk, Compliance, Operations, Internal Audit) ; manage and drive change across the organization, to ensure smooth transition.
• Foster a risk-aware culture by training and supporting internal teams on risk best practices.
• Coach junior consultants and contribute to thought leadership and methodology development

What You Bring:

• You have 8+ years of experience in operational risk within insurance or insurance consulting
• Strong understanding of insurance and general risk frameworks  (Solvency II, COSO, ISO31000) ; experience with IT Risk frameworks (NIST, Cyfun or other) and GRC methodology (tooling would be a plus). .
• Proven experience working with senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence decisions at all levels.
• An analytical mindset with the ability to simplify complex (risk) topics, as well as  pragmatic and solution-oriented.
• Good knowledge of English and Dutch/French.
• You have a passion for insurance.
